Community Land Trust
The Peace River Housing Trust, Inc. operates a Community Land Trust in Charlotte County.
In a land Trust, housing units are purchased and the land is leased from the Trust to the homebuyer for renewable 99-year terms. The lease allows the owner the tax benefits of a homestead unit but places limitation on the resale of the home to ensure ongoing affordability.
Homes are currently available for eligible households at or below 100 percent of Area Mediam Income. All homes in the program are different in size, location and amenities offered.
