Bankruptcy Counseling & Education Services
The Housing Corporation is proud to have been approved by the Executive Office of the United States Trustee (EOUST) to provide Pre-filing Bankruptcy and Pre-discharge Education.
Pre-Filing Bankruptcy Counseling
This counseling is required within 180 days before filing for bankruptcy protection. The counseling and subsequent certificate is done in person with one of our skilled counselors. There is a fee of $50.00 per appointment for this service. If you are a married couple and both filing you must both receive counseling. Services are free based on client’s ability to pay, under the following circumstances:
1) If your attorney is filing pro bono; or 2) the majority of your income is from disability, and your family income is no more than 200% of Federal Poverty Level. Documentation MUST be provided verifying for fee to be waived.
